Why There Is No Such Thing As #ModernTradition

Dear freinds this topic itself is very intresting, because the traditions in our vast country like INDIA ,with so much diversity of languages, food habits, living style, cast, creed, wealth wise in equality every things matters in our old traditions set by older generation Also one major factor was the Geographical conditions of that perticuler area, some traditions are according to their Religios belives which is very hard to change, although it can be reduced in detailing ,for that nobody will treat you as conservative.like i can give you a example, when i was marreid in 1981,the BARAT use to stay for three days at Bride's house, but since time has changed, nobody can afford so much time, everybody is fighting for their survival. So would you call this Modern Tradition,no this is the demand of the time.it is nothing to do with your clothes or living style.

The above photographs shows the very old traditions of our country, still enjoyed by everybody.

Other traditions:
'Joint family' is a notable feature of Indian families. Researchers have noted that people who do not belong to cohesive families have fewer coping resources and increased levels of social and psychological stress. Psychological stress is associated with heart disease, various cancers and increased mortality risk. Indians shed emotional stress exceptionally well, due to the familial support which they receive and contribute to.
We never to pass on anything – money or a gift – to an Indian with your left hand, which is used for cleaning up.
ALTHOUGH WE KNOW THE BENIFITS OF COMBINED FAMILY BUT THIS TRADITIONS OF OURS IS NOT WORKING IN CITIES, AS VALUE OF SPACE IS ON TERMS OF PER SQFT NOT PER BIGHA,SO TRADITIONS CHANGES AS PER TIME'S REQUIREMENTS.

  1. Joint family is the best example of tradition-modernity conflict. The whole concept depends on whether members of the family can understand each other. Tradition will not save any member, let me assure you. Understanding will. That means modernity in the sense there is no proper understanding without knowing the changes taking place around you.

  2. Nice take. I would say we have to be open for the changes in the society but at the same time we can't reject our traditions. We need a balance. A person is modern by his/her thoughts and not by the clothes they wear. :) :D
